Machines accept payments starting at 4 AM. For permit applications, they may be mailed or dropped off at the Summit Permit Center, 71 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ 07901. You’ll be issued a hanging tag to place in your rearview mirror. 

Schools 

The Summit district schools consist of five elementary schools for children K-5. Brayton, Franklin, Hubbard, Jefferson and Washington. There is one Middle School and one High School. Summit High School was recently ranked 24th BEST in the state by US News and World Report. Niche Best Public High Schools 2017 have just been released.
